In the previous Interim-
Papers we have reviewed the meanings of the TRUE WORSHIP of the Paradise Universal Father,
the PRAYER SUPPLICATIONS to the realms of the Paradise Eternal Son and His
Spirit of Truth, and qualified PRAYER REALIZATIONS by the spirit agencies of
the Holy Spirit, the Mind of the Paradise Conjoint Actor. The following Interim-Paper is
devoted to further enlightenment about the true nature of God.
***** The Universal Father has an
eternal purpose pertaining to the material, intellectual, and spiritual phenomena of the
universe of universes, which He is executing throughout all time. God has created the universes
of His own free and sovereign will, and He created them in accordance with
His all-wise and eternal purpose. The central universe of Havona
serves as the perfect pattern of creation for all other universes and as the finishing
school for the pilgrims of time on their way to Paradise. The chief concerns of the
seven superuniverses is the plan of perfecting the evolutionary mortals, but this ascension
scheme for spiritualizing and training the mortals of time and space is not by any means the
exclusive occupation which enlists the energies of the universe intelligences of the
heavenly host. Urantians, as residents of this
planet, have gross misunderstanding of the Providence of God. The Providence of the divine
outworking on this planet is not the childish arbitrary and material ministry many mortals
have conceived it to be. The Providence of God consists
in the interlocking activities of the celestial beings and the divine spirits who, in
accordance with cosmic laws, unceasingly labor for honor of God and for the spiritual
advancement and progress of His universe children. Through long ages the human
race has struggled to reach its present position, because through millenniums Providence
has been working out the plan of progressive evolution. The spirit and matter, the two
meanings so opposed in man’s mistaken concepts, should never be opposed in man’s
practice. The divine Providence of unchanging and perfect nature of the supreme
Lawmaker, is never arrayed in the opposition to true human progress, either temporal or
spiritual, as stated so well in the scriptures: “God is faithful Creator and
all His commandments are just.” God “upholds all things by the
Word of His power”, and when new worlds are to be born, He “sends forth His Sons, and
they are created.” God not only creates new
worlds, but He also “preserves them all.” He upholds all spiritual
beings and all material “things”, and all the universes are eternally stable. There is an underlying
order and security in the midst of the energy upheavals and the physical cataclysms of the
starry realms. The Universal Father has not
withdrawn from the management of the universes, and if the God should retire as the
present upholder of all creation, there would immediately occur a universal collapse,
and except for God, there would be no such thing as the “material reality.” God’s divine reach extends
around the circle of eternity where the Father unceasingly pours forth energy, light, and life,
and constantly renews all things. There is an organic unity in
the universes of time and space which underlies the whole fabric of cosmic events and it is the
evolving presence of the universal Supreme Being of seven superuniverses of
time and space, as the realm of function of the Divine Providence between the Trinity’s Conjoint Actor
of 3rd Source and Center and the evolving Supreme Being. Such unrecognizable control of
the co-ordination and inter-association of all phases and forms of universe activities has
been created as the medley of physical, mental, moral, and spiritual
phenomena so unerringly to work out to the glory of Paradise God and for the
